The YARDMAX YL2250 is a heavy-duty walk-behind string trimmer mower designed for property owners who regularly encounter tall grass, dense weeds, rough ground, and areas that are inconvenient to reach with a conventional lawn mower.
At the center of the machine is a 170cc four-cycle gas engine driving a 22-inch cutting system. The wide trimming path helps cover substantial ground, while the quad-line trimmer head uses heavy 0.155-inch line for demanding vegetation. Cutting height can be adjusted without tools through five positions ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 inches.
A distinctive feature of the YARDMAX design is its offset trimmer-head position. This allows the cutting line to reach beyond the normal wheel path, making it easier to work along fences, retaining walls, buildings, and other boundaries where a centered cutting head may leave vegetation behind.
Large 14-inch ball-bearing wheels provide ground clearance and help the machine roll across sloped, bumpy, and uneven surfaces. The one-piece steel deck adds structural rigidity while helping control vibration during operation.
YARDMAX also incorporates practical details for field use. An onboard Cord Caddy keeps replacement pre-cut trimmer line with the machine, and the fold-down handle reduces the space required for transportation or garage storage. Releasing the operator bail stops the cutting head without requiring the engine to be shut down and restarted.
